Q&A EFICO Foundation

I’m a coffee lover and I would like to support an EFICO Foundation coffee project. How can I do so?

As a family company, sustainability is in our coffee genes. In 2003, the EFICO Foundation was launched as a commitment of the EFICO Group to sustainable development, promoting our projects among the coffee roaster community. Established as a private foundation, the EFICO Foundation’s goal is to positively impact coffee farmers’ livelihoods, prosperity and environment. The multi-stakeholder approach adopted is unique and is a dynamic tool to foster partnerships and innovation in the coffee supply chain, multiplying impact. The EFICO Foundation is about people – from coffee farmers, their families and local communities to coffee consumers purchasing a sustainable product. Together, we can make sure that sustainable purchases and investment in the local coffee communities can guarantee that generations to come can prosper from the coffee seedlings they plant today.

Where does the slogan COFFEE FOR PEOPLE, PEOPLE FOR COFFEE come from?

The EFICO Foundation is about people: from coffee farmers, their families and local communities to coffee consumers purchasing a sustainable product: coffee.

I would like to know more about the EFICO Foundation label. Is it a product label?

The EFICO Foundation label is a project label. This means: coffee roasters support sustainable development projects of the EFICO Foundation by adopting its label on-pack. A project label does not equal a product label. The EFICO Foundation teams up with certification organizations, but its label is not a certification. Read more about the label here.
