EDUCATION, FOOD PRODUCTION GARDENS AND WOOD EFFICIENT STOVES FOR “EL PLATANILLO” COFFEE FARMING COMMUNITY

PURPOSE

  • Increase level of education of the children to obtain better opportunities
  • Use of self-producing vegetable garden to provide more nutritious food and to improve health
  • Use of wood efficient stoves to use less wood

PHASES

PHASE I (2014):

  • Buy satellite connection and the materials to develop the vegetable garden
  • Produce 1st & 2nd crop
  • Ensure that the internet connection works for students
  • Maintain the school

PHASE II (2015):

  • Maintain of the school and the internet
  • Have 3 crops of food for the garden
  • Buy the materials and construct 50% of the wood efficient stoves at El Platanillo houses

PHASE III (2016)

  • Continue the maintenance of the school and the internet
  • Have 3 crops of food for the garden
  • Buy the materials and construct the other half of the wood efficient stoves at El Platanillo houses
