Konga Amederaro Natural

Ethiopia: Yirgacheffe

Konga Natural is grown in Amederaro in the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia by local farmers. After being picked by hand, the fully riped cherries are dried on African beds for 10 to 15 days, with the farmers covering them when the sun becomes too bright. This gives the coffee a delicate rose aroma and a slightly yellow-fruit-like taste.

In this region, coffee is a family crop – local farmers typically grow Jarc varieties on small plots around their homes – usually less than 1 hectare of land; it is their main source of income. It is common for producers to also intercrop ‘enset’, the Ethiopian wild banana, avocado, and papaya so that they can have additional food sources.
