SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN GUATEMALA
PURPOSE
- Provide housing solutions and educational trainings in partnership with the local Community Development Council;
- Providing partner families with smokeless stoves, improved latrines and/or water filters and educational training;
- Help partner families construct smokeless stoves and latrines to improve sanitation conditions and reduce illness in partnership with HFHG;
- Each family receives training in financial planning, disaster response, preventative health, nutritional cooking, project management, and stove/latrine/water filter construction. They are also responsible for contributing materials and labor in building these products under HFHG supervision.
This project was possible thanks to the support of Habitat for Humanity Guatemala (HFHG), Local Community Development Council (COCODE), Mocca d’Or and EFICO Central America/the EFICO Foundation and ran from May 2018 to December 2019.
