PURPOSE

  • Promote wastewater treatment system for liquid waste from coffee processing plants with organic filters
  • Support OECA socioeconomic model
  • Convert to organic coffee production
  • Market high-quality organic coffee domestically

TARGET GROUP

  • Central Local de Cooperativas Agropecuarias (CELCCAR) in Caranavi, which groups nine cooperatives with 440 members and 2,195 indirect beneficiaries.
  • Central de Cooperativas Cafetalera del Nord-Yungas (CENCOOP) in Coroico, which includes five cooperatives with 350 members and 2,500 indirect beneficiaries.

This project was possible thanks to the support of Frères des Hommes, CELLCAR, CENCOOP and the EFICO Foundation and ran from 2006 to 2008.
