This farm got its name from the natural banana palm forest that surrounds the farm and serves as a natural shade protector for the coffee trees growing below. Bananas are also a great sub-agricultural product that Elfren family can commercialize next to coffee. In addition, the farm is surrounded by giant and strong guadua trees (bamboo forest). These are not only excellent building materials (used, e.g., for canopy beds), but most importantly regulate and store the water level in watersheds, conserve biodiversity and contribute to the purification and regulation of the environment here.
