FAQ EFICO Foundation
I’m a coffee roaster and I’d like to support coffee producers who are part of EFICO’s value chain. How can I get involved?
You are in the right place. This is what the EFICO Foundation was established for in 2003: to promote sustainable development projects amongst the coffee roaster community of the EFICO Group. As a family company, our goal is to make a positive impact on coffee farmers’ environment, prosperity and livelihoods. To ensure the lasting impact at-scale, we adopt a multi-stakeholder approach and foster new partnerships between private companies, civil society, academic and governmental institutions. Make a difference now.
Where does the slogan “COFFEE FOR PEOPLE, PEOPLE FOR COFFEE” come from?
It reflects our core belief. The EFICO Foundation is about people: from farmers, their families and local communities, to the consumers — every cup connects us. Our mission is to strengthen that connection and ensure that future coffee farming generations thrive from the coffee seedlings they plant today.
I have a project I’d like to submit. Where can I apply? We’re always looking for new inspiring initiatives. Submit your project here and our team will be in touch. The application round for 2026 is closed and will open again early 2027.
How do I make sure that my contribution maximizes impact for coffee farmers?
A core principle of the EFICO Foundation is that collected funds are fully allocated to the projects. EFICO assumes all operational costs of the Foundation, ensuring that 100% of your contribution goes directly to the projects. The financials are overseen by the King Baudouin Foundation — ensuring full transparency and integrity.

Is the EFICO Foundation label a product label?
The EFICO Foundation label is a project label, not a product label. By featuring the label on their packaging, coffee roasters make a visible commitment to positive impact. While we partner with third-party certification organizations, the EFICO Foundation label is not itself a certification. Find out more about the label here.
