Finca San Antonio

Colombia: Nariño

Nilson Luis López Diaz -born into a coffee-growing family in 1978, took on the management of his mother’s farm, El Bado, after his father’s passing in 2003. El Bado was honored in the Southern Colombia Cup of Excellence in 2012. A decade ago, Nilson started cultivating his own inherited plot, San Antonio, which transformed into a coffee farm. Besides coffee, he also grows tomatoes, beans, peas, corn, and bananas, providing both self-sufficiency and valuable shade and nutrients.

Coffee farming runs deep in Lida Cielo’s veins. Growing up with her father, don López, a revered farmer celebrated for his top-notch quality and inventive methods, Lida found her inspiration. She fondly remembers watching her father’s unwavering commitment to the coffee plants, sparking her fervor for coffee cultivation. Influenced by her father’s passion for specialty coffee, Lida chose to embrace the same path, guided by his expertise through the intricacies of coffee production.

Today, alongside Nilson, they impart their collective knowledge and affection for coffee to their daughters Luisa and Laura, ensuring the family legacy thrives.
