This coffee has been carefully selected and prepared by KURU, EFICO’s exclusive partner in Ethiopia for over 20 years: a guarantee of quality and tradition. KURU is also responsible for the implementation of EFICO Foundation’s projects in Ethiopia.

Arabica coffee has its roots in Ethiopia. According to the legend, a shepherd called Kaldi accidentally discovered coffee: he found his goats more active after consuming ripe, red coffee cherries.

As a labor-intensive crop, coffee provides means of livelihood for over 15 million people in Ethiopia. Over 90% of coffee is produced by small producers. The vast majority of the production in Ethiopia is organic.

Intense fragrance with mild aroma and sweet notes, medium acidity and rich body, nice lemony with fruity aftertaste.
