MICRO-CREDITS FOR WOMEN SMALLHOLDER COFFEE PRODUCERS

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT AND INCOME DIVERSIFICATION IN NICARAGUA

    Directly 30 women smallholder producers,
    to expand the result to about 55 families
    directly benefiting

PURPOSE

• Women empowerment and income diversification;
• Providing access to working capital to women coffee producers in northern Nicaragua;
• Providing access to special coffee markets to women coffee producers;
• A greater social benefit to a larger number of coffee growers and their families;
• A greater growth of the portfolio will lead to increased growth in the commercialization of coffee;
• With a larger volume of credit, more funds will be attracted and financial costs will decrease.

This project is possible thanks to the support of Fundación Aldea, Chacun Son Café and EFICO Central America/EFICO Foundation and runs from October 2020 to September 2022.
