Rutobwe – Women Coffee

The Mbizi Washing Station is located in Kamonyi, in the southern providence of Rwanda, sector of Rukoma, on an altitude of aprox. 1700 – 2200 m.a.s.l.

The women coffee extension (WCE ) was created in 2018  to give space for female producers to have a stronger voice in Rwanda Coffee production. The WCE was founded by 2 women UKEYE Aline Christine and Odette Uwamariya who work daily bases with these women in different programs : Family Planning, Nutrition program, Good agricultural Practices, providing cows and goats. With these initiatives, the production has increased from 3 kgs to 4 kgs per tree and the washing station moved from 3 containers to 6 containers of green coffee.
