Finca Las Lajas Cascara
Costa Rica: San José, Tarrazu
Finca Las Lajas Cascara is grown by Oscar and Francisca Chacón in the Pérez Zeledón district of the San José Province. The coffee plants are grown at an altitude between 1300 to 1500 meters above sea level. The term “cascara” refers to the husk of the coffee cherry. In the past, these husks were either thrown away or used as fertilizer. However, in recent years, cascara coffee has become increasingly popular due to its unique flavor profile and rich antioxidant properties. This particular cascara features a blend of hibiscus flower notes, a red currant aroma, and a mango aftertaste, making it a truly exceptional coffee.
