EXCITING RE-LAUNCH WITH A FRESH UPDATE
At CUPRIMA, we’re excited to unveil the refreshed TERRA category, your go-to for green coffees that capture the soul of their origins. Available year-round and traceable back to their roots, TERRA is where we shine a light on the magic of Terroir.
The visual identity of TERRA is as distinctive as the coffees themselves. Hand-drawn by our talented in-house artist, Laura Ruymaekers, these illustrations honour the essence of each coffee’s unique Terroir.
WHAT MAKES CUPRIMA’S TERRA RANGE SO SPECIAL ?
Terroir is more than a place; it’s a unique blend of elements -soil, water, altitude, climate, and culture, that shapes the distinctive character of a coffee -much like wine. Each cup in this category reflects the intricate harmony of its region’s ecosystem.
We’ve highlighted 3 key contributors to the magic of Terroir:
WATER
Water is life -not just for the coffee plant but for the entire journey from blossom to bean. It nourishes, sustains, and plays a vital role in post-harvest processes like washing.
Spotlight Coffee
SOL NACIENTE EL CHORRO ORGANIC from Sierra Nevada, where mountain streams (Choro) infuse the coffee with vitality and flavour.
In the Sierra region, these producers of Grupo Sierra are recognised as victims of the Colombian armed conflict and have participated in land restitution programs. Having regained their estates, they are ready to start a new chapter. Their focus is on uniting efforts to produce high-quality coffee that boosts their commercial prospects and improves the well-being of their members. These producers are organic certified and committed to sustainable coffee cultivation. They aim to stand out through their coffee’s unique origin and quality while maintaining a strong dedication to environmental protection and social equality. With access to international markets, they aspire for their region’s coffee to gain recognition among specialty coffee roasters.

SOIL
Healthy, fertile soil is the foundation of exceptional coffee. Rich volcanic soils, in particular, energise the plant and enrich the beans with minerals that shine through in the cup.
Spotlight Coffee:
GUATEMALA ATITLÁN PASAJQUIM, grown in nutrient-dense volcanic soil that gives this coffee its distinct energy and character.
The name Pasajquim originates from the picturesque Pasajquim Village in San Juan La Laguna, Sololá, nestled along the Yatza River, Sierra Parraxquim, and near the stunning Lake Atitlán. ‘Pasajquim’ translates to ‘populated place’. Atitlán Coffee is primarily grown on the Pacific side of the region, surrounded by three volcanic mountains with consistently high rainfall -no month sees less than 50 mm. Local producers often use lake water for wet processing and rely on organic matter as fertiliser instead of chemicals. The high altitude naturally minimises pests and diseases, while the region’s humidity, averaging 70-80%, adds to its unique conditions. Drying is done under the sun, and nearly 95% of the coffee is cultivated by small-scale farmers.

Spotlight Coffee:
COSTA RICA CORDILLERA DE FUEGO, cultivated between 1,700 and 2,000 meters, where mountain conditions deliver unforgettable depth and complexity.
Don Luis Eduardo Campos -the owner and founder of ‘Cordillera de Fuego’, acquired his farm in 1984, shortly after graduating from university. Don Luis is known for his constant drive to innovate and improve his coffee production.
